Been trying to cancel since December. Got a call today offering me 3 months for free. Told them I'd been through all this in December and January should have been my final payment. Now they tell me April will be the final payment date. Thats an extra £50 they'll have robbed from me. If you do subscribe do it by direct debit, at least then you can cancel it. I've cancelled my credit card which the payments are taken from however cc co tell me that wont work as Ive signed an agreement for them to take the money. The only cost was £1 admin charge. Cancellation was to be 30 days prior to end of 3 months, THIS WAS DONE. Next i knew was 2 payments of £10.99 2 days in a row. Phoned, complained, screamed but told to send in bank statement to show i was eligable for a refund. Why am i gonna give them more bank details when they stole off the last lot i gave them. Went to the police for advice and was told this is called "INERTIA SELLING" and is not a crime. They just chancing their arm that we will all go away and just turn a blind eye to the stealing from us that they are doing. NO BLOODY CHANCE. Setanta are the scum of the earth in my eyes and i really wish i never got involved with them. As that wasnt the reason I wanted to cancel he kept asking for reasons other than I just wanted to cancel.Then he informed me I had to write in at which point he was informed that as I didnt write to join I wasn't going to write to leave and that he should accept my cancellation as I was cancelling my direct debit on my internet banking, This did the trick and now cancelled. So I just stopped paying the Direct Debit (along with many otehr organisations) yo and behold the first thtreatening letter I get is from Setanta advising me that they will be handing "the debt" to a collection agency(for programmes I am never going to watch and have never watched since the single UFC fight I initially wanted to watch) Setanta have legally parted me with £70 through their dubious "sign up" procedures. It is almost impossible to cancel these subscriptions. Setanta are in my opinion the worst organisation (Yes even worse than BT) and I look forward to the company failing in the current econmomic climate..... and when they do... GOOD RIDDANCE......
